I thought I knew all of the old people of this tiny village, but one day as I wandered through with my camera, I met a lady tending the plants outside the church. After a shy greeting, she told me a little of her hard life, with acceptance and without complaints. She only had one remaining wish she said: that she have a photograph that her children could place on her gravesite when the time came.
She asked me how much I charge; I told her nothing and offered to take her picture. I didn't expect her overwhelming appreciation-- she rushed to find her husband, even sent him to shave, so he could also be photographed. When I returned a few days later with a simple gift of the framed prints her eyes welled up. Now she will not be forgotten...
I can't decide what made me stare your picture for so long...the picture itself or the story of how it was taken... I only can bow in front of such pure people

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
The 25 semi-finalists for our "Darksiders: Your Last Days" contest have been selected! The ultimate winners will be chosen by Joe Madureira, aka "Joe Mad" of Vigil Games. Check out the awesome semi-finalists to see who made the cut!
